Triggering event for TTS
Il 20 dicembre 2022 mi sono sottoposta ad intervento chirurgico per ricostruzione del legamento crociato al ginocchio sinistro, dopo oltre 20 tentativi di anestesia spinale l anestesista ha optato per l anestesia totale. Al momento dell’ artroscopia sono andata in asistolia,bradicardia e poi arresto cardiaco. Tentata rianimazione con massaggio cardiaco fallita, tentata rianimazione con epinefrina fallita e rianimata con adrenalina.
On December 20, 2022 I underwent surgery for reconstruction of the cruciate ligament in my left knee. After more than 20 attempts at spinal anaesthesia the anaesthesiologist opted for general anaesthesia. At the time of arthroscopy I went into asystole, bradycardia and then cardiac arrest. Resuscitation with cardiac massage alone failed, and was resuscitated with adrenaline.
Medical management
Dimessa dopo 4 giorni con diagnosi takotsubo comprovata da coronarografia e risonanza magnetica dopo 2 mesi (tornato tutto a posto). Sono stata dimessa con betabloccanti e cardioaspirina.
I was discharged after 4 days with a diagnosis of Takotsubo shown on coronary angiography and magnetic resonance imaging after 2 months showed recovery. I was discharged with beta–blockers and cardioaspirin.
Life after TTS
Il 6 febbraio al primo controllo mi hanno tolto i betabloccanti e al 22 febbraio, dopo risonanza magnetica perfetta, mi hanno congedata con prescrizione di cardioaspirina per un anno dall’ evento e sconsigliato di operarmi al ginocchio. Sono triste. E arrabbiata. Perché ho la sensazione che sia stato causato dalla anestesia o dai farmaci. Mi piacerebbe sapere se a qualche altra persona é caspita una cosa del genere.
On February 6 at the first check–up they removed the beta–blockers and on February 22. After a normal MRI, they discharged me with a prescription of aspirin for a year from the event and advised against knee surgery. I am sad and angry because I think that it was caused by anaesthesia or drugs. I would like to know if anyone else has experienced this.
