The stories that you find here of have been kindly shared by some of our Takotsubo Support Group members. The stories will be available to anyone who accesses the website so please only share details that you are happy to be in the public arena and use a pseudonym if you wish.

Holly was 67 years of age when she was diagnosed with Takotsubo syndrome (TTS).

Janice’s story: Workplace bank robbery

Janice was 44 years old when she was diagnosed with Takotsubo syndrome (TTS).

Linda’s story: Witnessed unexpected death of a friend

Linda was 47 years old when she was diagnosed with Takotsubo syndrome (TTS).

Charlotte (Charlie’s) Story: Intravenous cyclazine in the setting of recent surgery/ general anaesthesia

Charlotte (Charlie) was 48 years-old when she first developed Takotsubo syndrome (TTS).

Naomi’s story: Physical activity

Naomi was 39 years old when she was diagnosed with Takotsubo syndrome (TTS).

Karen’s story: Physical activity (cycling)

Karen, a Registered Psychotherapist, was 52 when she was diagnosed with Takotsubo syndrome (TTS).

Buddy’s Story

This story has been provided by Ellen, who herself has experienced TTS. It happened a few years before her TTS episode. It is the story of Ellen’s husband Tom, and his 7-year-old Irish wolfhound, Buddy.
